My Weekend Shenanigans & Winner Winner

Okay...so the title is a little deceiving, cause we didn't really get into anything questionable or mischevious, but I like the word, so I went with it.

Friday

Well, it didn't start out as usual....

That little sweetheart started with the thick, green mucus & low-grade fevers on Thursday & it wasn't getting any better by Friday, so I took her to the doctor's office. She has another ear infection (Praise the Lord it's nothing more serious, but still makes me sad). She either came into contact with something new OR the last junk she had was penicillin resistent, went dormant while she was on it, & came back with a vengeance this time. So we've started a different antibiotic.

I worked some of the day.

Then we went out for a dinner where I didn't have to negotiate or beg anyone to focus on eating. My MIL kept the girls, so....

....the hubs & I went.....

...to The Melting Pot. It's one of my FAV nice places to go. We don't go but every once in a while (I think it's been 2 years or so since we went last).

After I was stuffed, it was time for dessert!

We were going to go see a movie too, but there was no way I could stay awake through a movie that started at 9:45 {yes, I realize I'm getting old}.

Saturday

A lot of relaxing happened since Kayla was not feeling well. We are firm believers of 24 hours fever-free before we expose ourselves to other people...we don't want to share our illnesses (sharing is not caring in this case) & our little immune systems are down & we don't want to get anything else.

We watched movies, some sports, & enjoyed some popcorn (don't worry, Bad Boys II was after the girls went to bed). Apparently I watched a little golf too, but that was through the back on my eyelids.

And the girls felt up to doing a little playing.

Gotta get our phone calls in!

If you can't fit in the car, why not ride on the car.

Sunday

Another day of low-grade fever = another day of relaxing....well, Mommy got in a little workout, some straightening of the kitchen, & some laundry done too! Finally over the flu soreness (Praise the Lord!).

I had a Pinterest inspired breakfast (Pioneer Woman's Cinnamon Toast) with my coffee this morning.

They have their moments where they argue, but I LOVE these moments when they want to be right beside each other!!!!

It looks like Barbie has moved her house accessories into our living room.

And of course what is a lazy day without some DS playing.

While the big kids (aka adults) watched the TN Lady Vols, the little kids...

...got to watch a movie in the big bed; & play DS of course!

Crappies to Happies

Just like last time, I'll go from bad to good so I make sure {more for myself} that I am focusing on the positive things in my life.

Crappies

~ Jamie broke her Piggie Bank

~ I offended someone with a Facebook status

~ I've been crazy busy at work

~ I procrasinated & didn't do any work on Thursday {since I used to work in a school system, my brain thinks holidays when you are at work = fun/party days}

~ I had to take Kayla to the doctor this morning cause she's running a low~grade fever & blowing thick, green junk out of her nose. She has another ear infection {she either came into contact with something new OR the last junk was penicillin resistent, went dormant while she was on that last antibiotic, & has now come back pissed off}

~ I had 9 boxes to deal with from UPS & FedEx when I did get to work today {still don't have them all dealt with, but hey, I gotta do a blog}

~ A file & some glasses just tried to attack me

~ I have 17 sets of lenses to cut when I come to work on Monday....that's 34 lenses, right? {shouldn't have been in fun day mode on Thursday}

~ The girls preschool had to close Wednesday, meaning they have to reschedule their Valentine's Day Party to next Wednesday & I can't go {see 1 of my happies as to why}

~ I hate shopping!

~ I have no nice clothes to wear

~ Gree had a Piggie Bank at her house that Jamie can now decorate to her own liking

~ I also helped someone with that same Facebook status

~ I got to meet with our Moms Bible Study Play Date Group

Valentine's Day 2013

So here is what our day has looked like...

My early bird couldn't wait for everyone to get up so she could open her Valentines {again...don't judge, we're getting as much use out of those Christmas jammies as we can}. Jamie left Clifford the Big Red Dog join her for breakfast.

Ms. I'm Too Big for a Nap slept in a little bit. But after she got up, she was excited!

Ahhhhh....the ONLY materialistic thing I ask for as a gift for Valentine's Day: Chocolate Covered Strawberries. It's all I want for Valentine's Day, EVER!

I won a giveaway of Antoillier Chocolates from Laura B @ Walking In Memphis In High Heels & the basket arrived today. All I can say is O....M....Goodness!!!!!! They are YUMMY!

For lunch, we had our Office Valentine's Lunch at this yummy place!

I got the hubby a basket of some healthy snacks & his FAV candy (Reese's Cups) along with some fishing themed candy & a lure.

When we got home from work, our cards from Nonnie & Pappaw had arrived!!!!

The girls decided to make Mommy & Daddy some cards while Daddy cooked dinner.

Kayla (5-years-old) did Daddy's card (on the left) & Jamie (2-years-old) did Mommy's card (on the right)

I am thankful God curled Jamie's hair for me...I get it wet, & scrunch it up.

But Kayla did not get the curly hair, so I have to help out a little when she's wanting it curly. I'm not great at it, but I have plenty of time to practice.
