Moving On

If you are my friend on Facebook, you know for the past 12 weeks, I've been doing a Bible study with a group of my Mommy friends. We would meet each week, have yummy food (yea, I LOVE food!) & let the kids play. All of our kids are about the same again, so this was a group of women who are in the same season of life as I am. While the kids played, we would discuss our Heartwork for the week on the Bible study we were doing. I call it Heartwork because we are working to make our hearts more Christ-like.

We did a Bible study for Moms: "Raising Responsive Children"

It was a GREAT study!!!! I learned SO much about myself as a woman & a mom. This study & these women helped me REALLY grow!

Well, due to life happening, I was unable to do every day worth of Heartwork during our 12 weeks; but I was DETERMINED to complete it because I had gotten so much out of all that I had done. PLUS, if I completed it, this would be the VERY first Bible study I had started & actually completed. And let me tell ya, I've started SEVERAL.

But I will no longer be someone who does not complete my Heartworks, even if the group meetings are over. Even though our last meeting was last week, I still went back & completed the days I had to skip. I finished my last day yesterday morning during my Quiet Time. It was exciting & sad all at the same time. Our group of Mommies will do another study, but we're going to wait until after the Holiday Season. All day yesterday, I was like, well now what am I going to do during my Quiet Time????

Then it's like God turned on my lightbulb. Many people get "signs" from God or answers to their prayers in different ways. Sometimes for me it's REALLY obvious & other times not....it can be a Scripture that just jumps out at me or an understanding or this sense of knowing. [I would LOVE to hear about how God speaks to you!]

God reminded me that I had purchased a book & signed-up for an Online Bible Study (OBS) back in September. I put on Facebook that I would be reading this book & couldn't wait to get started.

The book is:

I read a couple of chapters & realized it was going to be AWESOME; however, I was not going to be able to put the appropriate focus on the Bible Study I was already doing AND this book if I tried to do both. So I put the book aside to come back to. Every time I got an email from the OBS, I would put it in a folder labeled Unglued in my email.

Since I finished "Raising Responsive Children", I can now move on to "Unglued". I will Blog or Facebook about it from time to time as I read & work through the OBS Heartwork. As I do, I would LOVE to hear your feedback. If you've read this book, I would also like your thoughts.

  1. So hard to explain how God speaks to me. I think it can best be described as a knowing or a peace. "I didn't know the answer now I do." Then when I speak of it to Chris he will say, "Yeah He told me the same thing." Or he will come to me and say what God has told him and it will be the same thing I was getting. So, that is usually my confirmation.

When I pray: I pray Scripture...then I don't have to be concerned about too much me getting in. (Like my wants, how I think He should do things, etc)

I also POUR OUT MY HEART! "Lord, I can't do this...I NEED YOU!"

Thanks for letting me in! I am SO THANKFUL for our friendship! I tell Chris probably every day (at least every other day!)

    1. Oh I am SO THANKFUL for our friendship too!!!! And even though it was not the "easiest" of situations that brought us together; I LOVE that moment that did & how instant our friendship was formed!!!! I also LOVE how much God has a hand in this one ;-) [& how alike we can be sometimes].

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It's great to know how others hear God!

  2. Oh wow! I hadn't thought about it like that! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your insight! I wish I had heard those sermons. I need to dig more into Proverbs. I thoroughly enjoy the Proverbs 31 Ministry.

Girl, GO GET THIS BOOK! Or order it! I'm a Kindle user, but I got this book in paperback form so I could highlight & write all in it. If you want to do it as a Bible study, I can always forward you the emails I got. You just won't be able to interact with the women cause they started back in Sept...but you could always interact with me about it.

Being transparent can be a little intimidating; but the only way I grow & learn is by getting in there & sharing. Thanks for your prayers!!!!
